The Listening Tree Talk, brings a special show in collaboration and as contribution with Woman Scream Festival 2021, under the theme: Women Warriors, violence is not in quarantine, in solidarity with women facing an increment of violence during pandemic times. 

 

About A-Slate

 

A-Slate is a spoken word artist from Ohio, actress, author, poet, movie maker, mother. Recipient of the Artist Opportunity Award. She has performed in many different stages and support many children with mental illness causes and advocates for social change. As a poet, she has been awarded many times, worked alongside several known poetry performers such as: the Queen of Poetry, GeorgiaME, Malcom Jamal Warner, Queen Sheba, Sunny Patterson, among others. 

As an actress, she has got the leading role in productions such as “First, Do No Harm”, presented on the Dayton Playhouse Theater. She is the founder of “The WRITElife Village”, which provides local students with a safe platform to express themselves without fear. She is the owner of Slatehouse Ink Publishing. Her first collection of poetry is called: “Lifelines and legacies”. Her work has been featured in local newspapers.
